Understanding, Preventing and Reporting Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

This training course equips employees with the knowledge and tools to recognise, prevent, and report sexual harassment in the workplace. We will explore behaviours that constitute harassment, understand its legal and ethical implications, and learn how to foster a respectful, inclusive environment.

The training covers strategies for identifying and addressing harassment and aims to build a safe, supportive culture for all employees.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Comprehend Legal and Ethical Implications: Understand both employee and employer responsibilities related to sexual harassment, focusing on rights and obligations under the law.
  • Define Sexual Harassment: Recognize what constitutes sexual harassment, including key behaviours that can create a hostile work environment.
  • Recognise Signs of Harassment: Identify different forms of harassment—verbal, non-verbal, and physical—and understand their impact on individuals and the workplace.
  • Understand Prevention Strategies: Learn proactive steps to promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and awareness across the organization.
  • Respond Effectively to Harassment: Gain skills to respond appropriately to harassment, including direct actions and bystander intervention techniques.
  • Know Reporting Processes: Familiarize themselves with the organization's reporting procedures and available support channels to ensure complaints are handled confidentially and professionally.
